LITTLE ONE

This song was inspired by the death of a young friend of my daughter Veronica. Is there any tragedy greater than the untimely end of a young life? Veronica penned the beautiful lines "Her heart's in the clouds, her face in the Sun. " The music came, as so often happens, from one of Tommy's piano riffs. - Alan
VERSE 1
Daylight spills upon slumbering features
Peaceful rest for an enquiring mind
Tiny hands
Tiny Feet
Perfect love lies next to me
All that I am embodied here
Close your eyes let me hold you near
CHORUS
I am
you are
A future tale
Waiting to be told
Your heart's in the clouds
Your face in the sun
Shine down on me
My little one
VERSE 2
Daylight spells a stark reminder
The nights a thief creeping through peaceful slumber
Empty Bed
Fairy dress
All that's left of happiness
Stolen away come light of day
Too little strength to keep night away
CHORUS 2
I am
you are
A future tale
Waiting to be told
Your heart's in the clouds
Your face in the sun
Shine down on me
My little lost one
BRIDGE
Is she near?
I don't know
Can she hear
I don't know
SOLO (first two verse lines)
PRE CHORUS
Empty Bed
Fairy dress
All that's left of happiness
Stolen away come light of day
Too little strength to keep night away
CHORUS 2
